Vrana Lake Nature Park
It takes only a half an hour drive from Sukošan in a direction of Šibenik to reach Vrana lake, the biggest natural lake in Croatia and also a Nature Park, located right next to the sea. It is an important ornithological habitat with many lake bird species nesting there. The lake is rich in fish, so many leisure time fishermen come there as well. Turbulent history of Vrana resulted in many interesting monuments so today the visitors can experience a bit of times past at the restored Maškovća Han, the most western example of Ottoman architecture, and at the Benedictine monastery from the 9th century. A bit of mystery is added by the fact that Templar knights used to dwell here as well.
